The Charles Louis Alphonse Laveran Research Award- 2015 goes to Kiran Meena* and Pamil Tayal from India. This is an excellent global opportunity to recognize the meritorious efforts by individual and organization. The research findings were published on world’s prestigious International Journal of Medicinal Plants. Artemisia annua is an annual herb, known for its antimalarial drug – artemisinin. The drug is used in combination with its derivatives to prevent the emergence of resistant strains of Plasmodium falciparum. Artemisinin is synthesized through mevalonate pathway in cytosol or methylerythritol phosphate pathway in the plastids and gets accumulated as a secondary metabolite in glandular trichomes. Low yield of drug is recovered using hydrocarbons from the leaves. However due to the emerging malarial cases worldwide, the commercial yield of the drug needs to be enhanced. Various modern technological practices such as semi-synthetic production of artemisinin using microbes (yeast), in vitro propagation of A. annua, selecting high artemisinin producing varieties and use of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi during cultivation are used now-a-days accounting for increments in the drug production. The review highlights the molecular mechanism of action of antimalarial drug and methods to enhance its concentration in plant parts in vivo as well as in vitro. It is proposed that biologists should focus on an integrated approach for enhancement and effective utilization of the drug. The review highlights the synthesis of antimalarial compound in different plants belonging to different genera. The biosynthetic pathways have been explored in Artemisia annua for designing antimalarial combined therapies along with the production of artemisinin derivatives. The work emphasizes on the mechanism of action of artemisinin against Plasmodium falciparum. The review collectively demonstrates the current scenario of production and ways to enhance the concentration of antimalarial drug. It was suggested to future researchers to look for an integrated approach for drug enhancement and recovery with simultaneous curtailment in the cost. Artemisinin drug extracted from Artemisia annua is used extensively to cure endemic disease - malaria in Asia. In spite of this, the cultivation of the plant is not widespread. Also, limited extraction procedures with low drug yields are followed till date that further adds in plant exploitation. In the last decade, although the researchers have defined ways to enhance the drug yields but the cost management has been neglected. The review states the different approaches which can be combined together to improve the drug quality and quantity as well as minimize the cost. As the review shows all the available methods and approaches for drug extraction and its enhancement, it is recommended to agribusiness companies and research followers to cultivate the plant on a large scale to meet the growing demands of antimalarial drug. Also, better drug extraction procedures with cost effective measure should be laid down. Meena K. has collected the data and Tayal P. has drafted the manuscript. Two new species of the genus Tetracotyle Reported from North India

Helminths are a serious threat to their hosts causing loss to the fish-based economy. A large number of fishborne infections, caused by fishborne zoonotic trematodes because freshwater fishes serve as the second intermediate host in the life cycle of many helminths. There is limited information available on this aspect in Indian perspective. The present communication attempts to provide a detail description about two strigeids species viz. Tetracotyle multilobulata n. sp. and Tetracotyle madhubanensis n. sp. parasitizing freshwater fishes, collected from Eastern U.P., India. The species are characterized on the basis of shape, structure, place and position of oesophagus, intestinal caeca, holdfast organ, hold fast gland and number of genital rudiments. Tetracotyle multilobulata n. sp. and Tetracotyle madubanensis n. sp. are new species of the Tetracotyle group. Identification of the parasite has been done using morphological characters from live specimens as well as mounted specimen. As Earlier described trematodes species Mastacembelus armatus (Lacep.) was parasitized by T. fausti (Rai and Pande, 1969) nom. nov., Syn. Diplostomulum type Rai and Pande, 1969 only. Hense it’s a new host record for Tetracotyle group. The major drawback lies in the knowledge and uniformity of taxonomic characters resulting in multiplication of species due to unavailability of good equipment in last decades. It will reform them by using advance tools and techniques. There is still a lot of scope in the areas where hosts have not been surveyed for infection, especially eastern Uttar Pradesh in India. Thus, there is a chance of getting new species of such Strigeids group. Worms were studied alive to saw the pattern of reserve excretory system while detailed internal structures of specimens from mounted slides in Canada Balsam to short out this issue. During course of study from 2007-2010 fishes were therefore, examined and author has succeeded in making a collection of some metacercariae of Tetracotyle sp. from different host and locality. Z.T. Al Ahmar receives World Dentistry Research Award- 2015. The research findings were published on world's prestigious most read journal: The Journal for Dentistry. Aim: This study was to designed to compare differences in transverse dimensions of dental arches, alveolar widths and skeletal factors of Class II division 1, Class II division 2 malocclusion. Methods: Dentoskeletal characteristics of class II malocclusion subjects were evaluated using cephalometric radiograph and dental cast of 70 untreated patients. Sample included 37 class II Division 1 and 33 class II Division 2 malocclusion patients. Inter canine, inter premolar, inter molar, inter canine alveolar, inter premolar alveolar ,inter molar alveolar widths are measured on study models. Radiographs digitized using Auto CAD program all the data compared by independent t- test. Results: Showed statistically significant difference between groups for maxillary inter premolar, inter molar, alveolar inter premolar, mandibular inter canine and inter canine alveolar. Results revealed SNB angle was responsible for skeletal sagittal difference between groups. Class II division 1 showed a retrognathic mandible. Conclusion: maxillary inter premolar, inter molar and alveolar interpremolar widths were significantly narrower in the Class II division 1. Rapid maxillary expansion rather than slow expansion may be considered. There was a significant reduction of mandibular intercanine width in division 2 subjects. Cass II division 1 subject show more retrognathic mandible than class II division 2 subjects. The data suggest that knowledge of the craniofacial growth process particularly skeletal and dentoalveolar growth pattern in Class II malocclusion patients orthodontic and orthopedic therapies may be a clinical usefulness procedure leading to proper choice of treatment time, modality to improve and to shorten the period of treatment, avoiding adverse consequences. The limitation of the study lies in the fact that the database collected from the cephalometric x-ray of untreated patients with class II malocclusion which is a two dimensional view instead of using a digital computerized tomography scan(3D ) view so that the dimensions can be measured in a 3 axis of lines. Their research findings were published on world's prestigious most read journal: The Journal of Education. It has been observed that a lot of stress being seen in the University teachers that hinders in their academic performance. The research article factors discusses responsible for creating stress in teachers of public sector universities of Rawalpindi. The objectives of the study were to identify the factors responsible of stress in teachers of public sector universities. The research design for the study was descriptive survey. Research was conducted on a random sample of 70 (40 male and 30 female) teachers. The observed factors were mainly due to the lack of time for relaxation, institutional politics, and freedom to ask for any sort of help when needed from superiors, heavy workload, extra duties, job security and family issues. The overall results regarding stress level revealed that a high percentage of teachers were falling at very low level and moderate stress categories. The democratic environment, reasonable workload, Provision of job security for the employees, consultative leadership and proper guidance and counselling arrangements were recommended in this study. In the light of the drawn conclusions, the following recommendations were suggested: The administration should learn, communicate and apply stress management techniques to each and every member of the organization or institute. A cooperative democratic organizational culture should be developed in the entire organization. Job security and career development opportunities for the employees should be made certain within the institute. Sufficient salary packages and reasonable incentives should be granted to the employees in accordance with their performances. Academic staff should be kept away from the additional administrative assignments. Proper liaison and coordination should be developed among: Faculty members, Administration and faculty, Junior and senior faculty members.
