Elanchezhyan, K. did B.Sc. (1997 to 2001) from Agricultural College and Research Institute (TNAU), Killikulam – 628 252, TN, with OGPA - 8.55/10.00 (85.5%). He has done Ph. D. (Agriculture) in Agricultural Entomology (2004 to 2008) from Agricultural College and Research Institute (TNAU), Madurai – 625 104, TN with OGPA - 9.19/10.00 (91.9%) on Cropping system based bio-diversity for brinjal pest management. He has received Jawaharlal Nehru Scholarships for Doctoral Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund (JNMF), New Delhi and Dr. P. C. Sundara Babu Prize for getting highest OGPA in all the Agricultural Entomology courses and Best Thesis for Eco-friendly Pest Management in Plant Protection, Agricultural College and Research Institute (TNAU), Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
He has done M. Sc. (Agriculture) in Agricultural Entomology (2001 to 2004) with OGPA - 9.41/10.00 (94.1%) on Investigations on cost-effective media for the production of entomopathogenic fungi, Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo) Vuill. and Nomuraea rileyi (Farlow) Samson and their efficacy against cotton bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner). He Worked as a Senior Research Fellow in the DuPont India (P) Ltd. – funded scheme “Evaluation of the new molecule E2Y45 against rice leaffolder and stem borer at the Department of plant Protection, AC & RI (TNAU), Killikulam from 17-09.07 to 05.03.08. He Worked as a Senior Research Fellow in the Government of Tamil Nadu sponsored scheme on “Establishment of Butterfly Park at Arignar Anna zoological Park, vandalur, Chennai” from 06.03.08 to 15.07.2008. He worked as a Senior Research Fellow in the DBT funded scheme on “Morphometric and Phylogeography of honey bees and stingless bees in India” at Agricultural Research Station, Bhavanisagar from 31.07.2008 to 27.01.2009. He Worked as a Senior Research Fellow in the DuPont funded scheme on “Efficacy of HGW 86 10% OD against pests of Chillies” at the Department of plant Protection, AC & RI (TNAU), Killikulam from 30.01.2009 to 18.12.2009. He is Working as an Assistant Professor (Agrl. Entomology) at Rice Research Station, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Ambasamudram from 31.12.2009 to till date.
He attended training on Winter school on Bt rice evaluation and deployment strategy (21 days), Directorate of Rice Research, Hyderabad, Climate change and Agriculture: Adoption and Mitigation strategies (14 days), TNAU, Coimbatore. He attended Workshop on TNAU-Examination Management System (EMS) and E-Governance, TNAU, Coimbatore (One day), Training programme on beekeeping, TNAU, Coimbatore (4 days), Training on Organic Farm certification, MRIT_SNA, Madurai, TN (one day), Training in management development programme on marketing management, SISI, Tirunelveli (10 days). He has contributed 26 Research papers, 07 Book Chapter, 01 Lead paper, 01 Review Article, 65 Extension Papers (in Journals), 81 Extension Papers (in Newspaper), 5 Abstracts.
