In their report on Foliar Application of Potassium to Mitigate the Adverse Impact of Water Stress on Growth and Physiological Performance of Stevia rebaudiana rebaudiana they mention that An experiment was carried out to study the effect of foliar application of potassium on growth and water stress. The results reveal that all the growth biochemical constituents of Stevia rebaudiana plants under parameters (plant height, leaf area index, biomass, relative water content) were drastically reduced and the biochemicals viz. total amino acid, protein and nitrogen content were also affected in response to water deficit. However foliar application of K had a positive effect on growth of Stevia rebaudiana plants and also maintained optimum biochemicals. Results prove that foliar application of KNO3 under water deficit conditions can be effective in promoting the growth performance with enhanced biochemicals. This research concludes to increase the tolerance capacity of Stevia rebaudiana and may prove beneficial for commercial cultivation and management of Stevia rebaudiana in water scarce regions hence promoting its quality and quantity characteristics.. Under their leadership the research area is surely likely to expand beyond the horizons. It will be worthy to explore the further potential under their legacy. ABC News Reports Crossbench still against higher education bills despite backdown
A Federal Government move to sideline a $1.9 billion budget cut to higher education courses and push ahead with fee deregulation has failed to sway the Senate crossbench. The measures — fee deregulation and the funding cut — were at the heart of the Coalition's university overhaul, which seemed doomed to fail for a second time in the Senate and have now been split into two separate pieces of legislation. The original bill faced heavy opposition, with only one crossbench senator out of eight publicly prepared to back it — far short of the six votes required. 'Greedy' pair Lukas Kamay, Christopher Hill jailed over $7 million ABS insider trading scam
Former NAB banker Lukas Kamay and former Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) analyst Christopher Hill have been sentenced to jail over a $7 million insider trading scheme. Kamay was sentenced to seven years and three months in prison with a minimum term of four and a half years. Hill was jailed for three years and three months with a minimum term of two years. Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth Hollingworth described the case as "the worst instance of insider trading to come before the courts in this country. She said Kamay and Hill "were motivated by personal greed, pure and simple" and said Kamay displayed some symptoms of "inflated self-esteem or narcissistic personality traits." Kamay pleaded guilty to money laundering, identity theft and insider trading. Co-offender Hill also pleaded guilty to insider trading and misuse of public office.

Facebook's new guidelines ban images of fully-exposed buttocks, and breasts
Facebook has categorized "fully exposed buttocks" and "images of female breasts if they include the nipple" under a list of banned posts in their revamped community standards section. Facebook said that the new guidelines were aimed at bringing "clarity" over what can and cannot be posted on the website, reported The Verge. The social media platform, added that some nudity was permissible "for artistic purposes." Facebook said that although some nudity may be there for a campaign or artistic purpose, some users in different parts of the world may be sensitive to this type of content. The social media giant added that the restrictions on the display of both nudity and sexual activity also applied to digitally created content unless the content is posted for educational, humorous or satirical purposes. Explicit images of sexual intercourse and verbal descriptions of sexual acts are prohibited.
