1. What are your views in brief on your current research work?

Dr. Mukesh Chandra Sharma: Research work involved the development of quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR) models for anti-diabetes, anti-malarial, antihypertensive, antitumor, cannabinoid CB1 receptor, anti-HIV and anti-tuberculosis activity using various QSAR techniques such as 2D, 3D-QSAR, GQSAR and pharmacophore modeling.

2. What are existing challenges and Opportunities in Pharmaceutical Science?

Dr. Mukesh Chandra Sharma: The major challenges confronted to Pharmaceutical sciences are associated with the innovations in Pharmaceutical sciences ranging from combinatorial chemistry to e-clinical trials, and protein structure determination to proteomics, where stringent approval drugs procedures are being empowered for their complexity and stiffness. Along with this, new concepts or technologies that claim to help accelerate drug development have arguably been too earnestly adopted without proper validation. Predictably, the exposure of Pharmaceutical industry that takes new research from academic institutions and gains from it is one that currently coherent strongly with the common people. Precise judgement under uncertainty and organizing without supervision is particularly pertinent problem to optimize drug discovery procedures. A definite challenge in developing new drugs takes a very long time and costs a great deal of money.

Pharmaceutical sciences encompasses the opportunity to train pharmacists in the administration of medical treatment as well as to motivate researchers and scientists a broad knowledge of the fields relevant to pharmaceutical science about existing medicines; pharmaceutical scientists discover, develop, test and manufacture new medications, enlightening how drugs interact with the human body and with the cells and organisms that cause disease. 3. How do you see your country's potential in Pharmaceutical Science?
